Instagram post 17912800918727789 Soon @wasafed will present this amazing opportunity for all the members
Instagram post 17875159808266032 The accomplishment of initiation of Society of Popular Sports (SPS), founded in June 1905 by Pierre de Coubertin, took the concrete form of a Diploma for Resourcefulness. André Slom was entrusted with the design. He was the same artist who designed the Olympic Diploma.
The diplomas were first formally distributed at the Sorbonne, the symbolic place at which Coubertin had organised, from 16th to 23rd June 1894, the congress leading to the establishment of the Olympic Movement, under the aegis of and signed by the Rector of the Universities of Paris, Louis Liard, Honorary President of the SPS. On 30th June 1907, after a variety of events organised in Lorient, Orléans, Paris and Tourcoing with the assistance of Théo Vienne, who, among other things, was the director of the journal entitled L’Éducation physique, over one thousand of these diplomas were awarded. All of this was the focus of chapter XX of Coubertin’s book Une campagne de vingt-et-un ans (1887-1908), published in 1909 by the Librairie de l’Éducation physique.

Instagram post 17921458942592552 On October 28, the fourth volume of the e-journal Diagoras International Academic Journal on Olympic Studies was launched.
Since 2017 the e-journal Diagoras International Academic Journal on Olympic Studies has been published. The idea of launching this annual journal has been developed by Prof. Ian Culpan (Director of the New Zealand Centre for Olympic Studies at the University of Canterbury, NZ), Prof. Emilio Fernandez (Director of the Olympic Studies Centre of the Autonomous University of Barcelona) and Prof. Stephan Wassong (Director of the Olympic Studies Centre of the German Sport University Cologne and President of International Pierre de Coubertin Committee - CIPC). They are the editors-in-chief. The technical director of Diagoras is Adolfo Nieto Losada (Doctoral candidate, Olympic Studies Centre of the Autonomous University of Barcelona).
The aim of Diagoras: International Academic Journal on Olympic Studies is to foster a critical understanding of Olympism, the Olympic Movement and the Olympic Games. The focus of the journal is Olympic Studies with an emphasis on the educative, pedagogical, historical, socio-cultural, communicative and sport and exercise science aspects of Olympic Studies. Diagoras seeks to become the prestigious multi-disciplinary scholarly journal on Olympic matters by extending knowledge and understanding of related areas. Published materials will be focused on original research, integrative and analytical reviews and philosophical discussions on Olympic matters.

“Our victory in Khartoum was a ray of hope after three years of civil war. It has proved that Ivorians and people around the world can unite, through sport, to achieve the same goal. The universality of sport brings people together, regardless of ethnic origins, religions or political beliefs. Today, I raise my #WhiteCard to sport as a vehicle for coming together and coexistence.” @peaceandsport
